Lions of Al Rassan

Lions of AL Rassan By Guy Gavriel Kay:
Hey everyone!
overall, this is one of those books you cannot put down, even if it is historical fiction. The plot is all based on real events especially from the Spanish requisition, where a holy war breaks out between Christians and Muslims, where the Jews are only able to watch and follow whichever faith wins. apart from the two moons in the little peninsula, the book could almost be reality. apart from being a great recollection of historical happenings, Kay also writes this book as a love triangle between a jewish woman doctor, a muslim leader and a christian constable, who find that the only way to bring their world to peace is to tear down the borders set by strict religous faiths. although in the end, war breaks out, and an extremely unexpected turn in the love affair ends the book. this is one of those books that leave you trapped in its aftermath, with excitement, nostalgia, wonder. it does contain some racy scenes, so school cut them out. :( although- we only have photocopied copies of the book, so when the library does have it, make sure you read it!!!
