JINX - meg cabot

Normally, i find meg cabot books are fun to read but this one was so...predictable and, not believable because it talks about magic which i dont belive in at all.

So here's what the book is about:

Misfortune has followed Jean Honeychurch all her life which is why everyone calls her Jinx. And now her parents have shipped her off to New York to stay with her relatives because her ex-boyfriend was stalking her for a reason you will find out in the book that is SO PREDICTABLE.

Her cousin tory thinks she's too cool to hang out with her and thinks she's a witch. Only does Jinx discover that beneath tory's big-city glamour lies a world of hatred and revenge. now it seems that the jiinx that's driven jean crazy may just be the only thing that can save her life...

no wonder it took me so long to read. (not interesting enough)

Hurricane Gold

Following the events in Double or Die, James Bond travels to Mexico with his Aunt Charmian, who is visiting the ruined Mayan city of Palenque. In the fishing village of Tres Hermanas, Angel Corona, a young Mexican pickpocket who closely resembles James, steals Charmian's bag. James chases and corners him. Corona is subdued and soon arrested by the local police. James is left in Tres Hermanas with Stone's children. During a devastating hurricane, some gangsters led by Mrs Glass enter the Stone house and steal the safe. James knocks one of the gunmen, Manny, out of the window. When JJ and Precious are captured by the remaining four robbers, James passes himself off as Angel Corona to join the gang. The Japanese gangster Sakata befriends James and teaches him ju-jitsu.
Mrs. Glass takes the group to an old oil field in order to get tools and explosives to open the safe. However, the documents are not in the safe, so presumably Stone had not removed them from his plane. Meanwhile Whatzat and Garcia die during an escape attempt. James learns from Mrs.Glass that Whatzat name was Charlie Moore. When JJ's injured leg becomes severely infected, Sakata, prompted by James, leaves the gang and takes JJ to hospital in Vera Cruz.
Mrs. Glass and Strabo make a new plan to flee to Lagrimas Negras and sell the documents to the ruler of the island, El Huracán. James and Precious escape and camp out for a while. Precious has undergone a change in character. Then Manny shows up in a car. He is very sick, as he has had brain damage. They head for Pelanque, but are unable to stop Mrs Glass escaping with the documents, though Strabo is killed by army ants.
Mrs. Glass goes to Lagrimas Negras alone. James and Precious follow on a ship. James discovers that when the guests of Lagrimas Negras run out of money, they are forced to work as slaves on El Huracán's farm. James also hears that running La Avenida de Muerte is the only way to get off Lagrimas Negras, though no one has ever survived it. They trick El Huracán into letting them run the course which he does reluctantly, as he was hoping James would stay on as his successor.

The Subtle Knife ( part 2 of His Dark Materials)

The second book introduces a character from our world Will. He is a strong a brave boy who can use the subtle knife. It is a special knife that can cut through space and open a portal that connect one world to another( there are many worlds). This book contains some cool ideas such as: The Spectre who can eat human souls if they are not children, Lyra's evil and powerful mother, fighting with angels.... It is a good second book however not as exciting as the first one. Phillip Pullman is a really good writer so I recommend this series for you guys.

Northen Lights ( part 1 of His Dark Materials) also known as The Golden Compass

If you have seen the movie, then you should know that the book is actually way better. This book's main character is called Lyra and she has a daemon( every one the this parallel world as ours can see their soul in form of an animal) She is going on a big trip to save her best friend and to travel to the North Pole to meat the bears. She has a special ability to read the golden compass which can tell the truth. At the end, there is a good twist to the story where she unintentionally takes her rescued friend to her father. Her father uses her friend as a 'sacrifice', that means he kills him!!! This story's creation is massive. It really goes a great scales take it to another level. All the magic and plots are really breathtaking!!! I recommend you to read this book although it is pretty long.

Angels and Demons

Okay, Angels & Demons is a book about the battle between science and religion. It is also centered around the Illuminati and the detail stories of Saints and the Vatican city. Professor Robert Langdon is our main character( he has appeared in The Davinci Code) who tries to find an anti-matter ( explosive bomb) that has been planned somewhere in the Vatican city. He also tries to solve where the murders of priests are going to occur.
This story is all twisted and mystic. It is also very serious and contains a dark mood to it. I would say I love three things about this book:
First, the ambigrams.( try reading the cover's title of the book up-side down then you will understand what this means)
Second, it makes me want to go to Vatican City!
Third, the surprising twist at the end.
If you want to read this book, I recommend it (although Mr.Pollicutt said Dan Brown was horrible)...lol.

The Borrowers

A funny book about tiny people who borrow things from humankind. They live in your house: under the floor, in the wall, on the roof... This book is extremely creative and the characters are really funny /witty.
This book helps you to explain why sometimes you lost your stuff and you never can find it. More over this book is also quite sad and depressing because they 'Borrowers' are dying away and they have to hide from humankind. Pod, Homlily and Arrietty are a family lives under the clock and the father usually goes to 'work' in the kitchen everyday (stealing). One day, the daughter is seen by a boy and troubles come to the family...Oops I don't want to spoil it! If you want to read it, I recommend so!!! This book is very entertaining and it really sucks you into the tiny world.

The host

Melanie "Mel" Stryder is one of few "wild" humans - rebels who have evaded the alien souls that have taken over the Earth. With her younger brother Jamie and the man she loves, Jared Howe, Mel is on the run from aliens, called souls, who hunt down humans in order to use their bodies as hosts. Souls are creatures that rely upon host bodies to survive. After "insertion" into a human body, they erase the human occupant and establish a claim over the body and mind. Wanderer is a soul who has lived on eight different planets previously, with Mel being her ninth host body. Upon waking inside her new body, Wanderer is shocked by the power and vividness of human emotions, memories, and senses, and quickly learns that Melanie is not willing to give up the entirety of her mind.

The Seeker, who is in charge of Melanie's body, starts to worry about Wanderer's apparent lack of control over Melanie's mind. Wanderer is bombarded with Melanie's memories and her powerful yearning for Jared and Jamie, and soon finds herself feeling strong love for Melanie's former companions. She becomes desperate to find out whether they are still alive. On a road trip to Tucson, Melanie remembers her Uncle Jeb telling her about a secret hideaway he once made, and which Jared is aware of. Wanderer sets out to find the hideaway, with a vague sketch of the path from Melanie's memories, and is found by Jeb on the verge of death. She is taken to the hideaway, a complex of caves in which a group of rebel humans live, but is treated spitefully as they consider Wanderer a parasite in Melanie's body. Many of the humans believe she should be put to death and attempts are made on her life, most notably by Kyle O'Shea, despite the protection provided her by some of the humans, including Ian, Jeb, and Jared (who experiences powerful, conflicting emotions towards his alien-possessed lover). Over time, Wanderer, now becoming known as "Wanda", becomes a part of the group's routine by working, eating, and becoming an unofficial history teacher by telling stories after evening meals about her experiences in former hosts on other planets occupied by the souls. During this time, Ian, Jamie, and many other humans befriend Wanda. The Seeker, still not convinced that Wanderer was killed in the desert, returns in a helicopter, but is unable to find the caves. Kyle tries to kill Wanda by throwing her into a boiling hot, underground river. Due to Wanderer's vigorous defense, he is unsuccessful and is about to fall into the river himself when his intended victim saves him. A tribunal is held and it is decided that Kyle is allowed to stay, though many of Wanda's friends are upset about this decision, particularly Ian, who believes that Kyle deserves to die after his plot to kill Wanda. Meanwhile, Ian begins to fall in love with Wanda. After discovering this, she is confused with her own feelings since she has been deeply infected by Mel's love for Jared.

They attend the most exclusive private schools, Constance Billard for Girls, St Judes for boys. They view New Yorks Upper East side as their playground as a new era begins.

A touch of dead

Is a collection of stories from the trueblood series. It has short stories of what happens in between the books. Beginning with “Fairy Dust”, Sookie is hired by fairies to do a bit of mental eavesdropping in order to discover a murderer’s identity, and then finds herself getting some unwelcome attention at Fangtasia’s Halloween party in “Dracula Night.”“One Work Answer” is a more complex story that picks up shortly after Sookie’s cousin was staked in a New Orleans cemetery. It includes a demon lawyer, Babba, Bill and a vampire queen plus a neat twist on a murder mystery. When one insurance agent’s business begins doing exceptionally well, Sookie assisted by her witchy housemate Amelia, look behind the scenes to see what’s responsible in “Lucky.” Before Sookie can sink into holiday depression, she discovers a wounded werewolf on her property in desperate need of assistance. By being a helpful person, Sookie receives a special Christmas package in “Gift Wrap."

Strange Angels

Dru Anderson has been “strange” for as long as she can remember. She travels from town to town with her father, hunting the things that go bump in the night and eat the unwary. It’s a weird life, but a good one–until it all explodes and a zombie busts into her new house.

Alone, terrified, and trapped in an icy town, Dru’s needs every inch of her wit and training to stay alive. she doesnt know whether to trust the boy who is just a little too adult–and just happens to get bit by a werwulf. Or the strange blue-eyed boy who tells her she’s heir to a long-forgotten power. she even doubts her own instincts.

Because Dru is not the first in her family to be killed by the darkness of the Real World. The monsters have decided to hunt back–and now Dru has to figure out who to trust, who to fight, and when to run. And not incidentally, she has to figure out how she’s going to get out alive.

And she has to do it by sundown, or it’s all over…

Percy Jackson & The Olympians: The Lightning Thief

I had no idea I had this book with me, and only read it because I knew the movie was coming out in February. After I read it, I wondered why I didn't read it before.

This book refers to Greek mythology a lot, so some knowledge of it is required to understand the book. Percy Jackson finds out he is a "half-blood" or "demigod", otherwise known as half human half god. He is the son of Poseiden. Realizing how dangerous he is, Percy is taken to "Camp Half-Blood" where all the other half gods are. He meets satyrs, naiads, and other mythological creatures in this camp and learns more about himself when he's granted a quest to retrieve Zeus' stolen lightning bolt, as he is the suspected thief. Percy goes on an adventure around the states with Annabeth, daughter of Athena, and Grover, a satyr.

He has only 10 days to finish his quest and solve the riddle of the "Oracle". Will he make it?

I know, it sounds stupid, right? I thought so, too when I read the back before I read the book, but then after I finished reading, I realized how good this book is! It's actually quite entertaining and makes you look at the world in a different way...4-5 stars!

The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants by Ann Brashares

I feel like I'm reading all my books over again, I need to buy new ones :(.

This book focuses on four main characters: Tibby, Carmen, Bridget, and Lena; four girls going off on their summer to wherever they're heading. Though, before they part, they find a pear of jeans fitting each of them snug and decide to share their summers through the pants. Meaning, the pants would be sent to each girl during one part of the summer and then passed along to the next, each time decorating the pants with their memories.

Each character is very different from one another, and go to different places, ranging from working at the local supermarket, to visiting family in Greece.

I recommend this book, saying it is "Ok and ...good", but not the best book in the world. It is a New York Times Bestseller though....and a movie was already made from the book!

Invisible Man by Ralph Ellison

I really regret reading this book, because it just seemed to drag on and on, and I think if I was 20 years older, maybe I'd like it.

This book is about a man who says he is "invisible". Not invisible like a ghost, but invisible from society, as he is a black man in a white society. Just to let you know, this story was written in the 50s, where racial hate was at its highest. Ralph Ellison really shows not only how white people treated African Americans, but the other way around as well. The man in the book is nameless and travels from the "Deep South" to the dangerous streets of Harlem.

The book is pretty harsh and a bit funny, but incredibley boring (to me). Many people have named it "one of the most audacious and dazzling novels of our century" and a book that "changed the shape of American literature".

But if you want to read 581 pages of "boring", go ahead!

Anne Frank: The Diary of a Young Girl

Sorry I haven't updated until now, I didn't know the reading challenge was extended until this Friday. How come nobody told me? :(.

Well, this book is more like a diary, and is actually written by Anne Frank herself, a young girl of 15 who lived during the Holocaust. She gets her diary for her birthday (and names it Kitty...) and writes about her life's events, such as her days at school, her meals, her friends, and her days hiding. Anne and her family hide from the Nazi officers in a "secret annex" in her father's office building. From there, Anne develops a crush on one of the boys living in the annex called Peter. She also talks about her "scares" when she almost gets found by the Nazis and how she's excited to be going through puberty.

This book/ diary is very lighthearted, because it's written by a girl like Anne, but we all know what's happening outside. However, as the story progresses, the mood drops and the diary ends abruptly there, showing at which point in time...Anne and her family...had been found. :(

The Hardy Boys: The Ghost at Skeleton Rock by Franklin W. Dixon

Chet Morton wants to take up ventriloquist as a hobby. He bought a dummy and realised that a secret message was put behind the dummy's eyes. This brought the Hardy Boys to Puerto Rico.
One of the henchmen closely resembles Joe coincidently costs the boys to falter in their search of the criminal mastermind. The boys and their friends arrived at an island, Calypso island, just outside of Puerto Rico where they meet a rich man by the name of Hamilton who owns a mansion in one side of the island. His neighbour is the island tribe who wants him off the island for good as it hurts their livelihood with that he does. Smuggling. The tribe believes Skeleton Rock is bad luck and any who talks about it will be eliminated. The Hardy Boys have survived one meeting with them. When Hamilton food poisons Chet and tries sinks Frank and Joe's boat whilst looking for a doctor, they survive through it and arrest Hamilton.

Stig of the Dump by Clive King

I don't like this book. It was boring. Like REALLY boring. It's not fun. It's BORING.
Barney meets a wild boy in the dump near his gran's house. He tells his sister and gran but they don't believe him and blame his wild imagination. The wild boy, whom Barney calls Stig, and Barney becomes great friends despite them not speaking the same language. Barney visits him regularly and helps him better his home with the outside world. They have fun and exciting adventures together around the dump... NOT.
It was torture.

The Hardy Boys: The Mystery of the Desert Giant by Franklin W. Dixon

The photos of the books aren't large because they're old. I bought this book in the school's Christmas Bazaar. I was so happy.
The father of one of the two men who had disappeared from the desert asked the Hardys to help the uncover the mystery. The Hardy boys were assigned to this task bringing their friend Chet Morton along. Willard Grafton, an industrialist, disappeared in the deserts together with his partner and the boys wanted to uncover this together with gang activity intending to defraud the US government.
They find Willard Grafton's fellow explorer took part in passing fake cheques in the US and kept Grafton as a hostage. He managed to hide away in a pony farm where he changed his name and identity so Wetherby, Grafton's partner, wouldn't find him.
At the end, all is well as they captured the bad guys!
Woohoo!
All Hardy Boys books are kinda the same. Sort of.

The Hardy Boys: What Happened at Midnight by Franklin W. Dixon

I love the Hardy Boys!
Malcolm Wright, an inventor, gave permission to Joe and Frank Hardy to break into his home and retrieve his invention from a secret compartment because he believe another gang were to break in also and take it. They achieve the task but got into a hustle with the thieves also aiming to get the top secret invention.
They had to keep the invention somewhere no one can get, that's when they put it at the trunk of their car. Whilst in a party hosted by Chet, the boys' sidekick in crime, Frank gets kidnapped chasing an alleged thief watching the brothers.
Frank gets rescued, but they chase their thieves all the way to New York City from their home in Bayport.
The bad guys were also smugglers but were caught later on in the novel. They stole Mr. Wright's antique plane to get Fenton Hardy, the father, out of the way for them to get the invention, but the boys have stopped them.
Woohoo!

Hallowe'en Party by Agatha Christie

The only reason why I chose to read this book is because I watched a Doctor Who episode where Agatha Christie is starred and I got interested. I bought this book at a second hand book store... they don't sell it in Fahasa.
During a children's Halloween party, a murder occurred. Someone has drowned Joyce Reynolds in the bobbing for apples tub in the library of the Drake's home. Mrs. Oliver, a detective novel writer, seeks the help of Hercule Poirot in solving this mystery. On the day of the party preparation,  Joyce says she's seen a murder, which doesn't surprise anybody as she has been known to tell lies to upgrade her popularity.
Hercule Poirot begins to ask people about the night of the party and about all the murders of the past years so it can match with the murder Joyce might've seen. One was of Mrs. Llewellyn-Smythe, who was Mrs. Drake's late husband's aunt. She died of a heart attack but her death was noticed as dubious as her will has been found saying everything was to be given to her opera girl Olga Seminoff. She disappeared after they said it was a forgery. The other murders were of a lawyer's clerk who died due to stabbing in the back, a strangled school teacher and Charlotte a shop assistant who died due to head injuries.
Mrs. Drake was a possible suspect as on the night of the party where everyone was watching a Snapdragon show, the same time the murder was possibly on going, Mrs. Drake came down the stairs stopped halfway and stared at the library door, she dropped the vase of flowers she was carrying. An incident witnessed by a school teacher who happened to be there when it happened, an incident which excited Hercule Poirot.
Later Hercule Poirot meets with a landscape designer Michael Garfield in Mrs. Llewellyn Smythe's quarry garden. He also meets Miranda Butler a young girl who spends a  lot of time in the garden.
Joyce's brother, Leopold, was murdered later on having blackmailing Joyce's murder.
SPOILER - turn back now!
Miranda was the one who saw a murder committed instead of her friend Joyce. Having spend so many time in the garden, she climbed up a tree one day. She sees a murder happen and afterwards escape. Her escape was easily heard by the murderers. She told Joyce about it and since Miranda was sick during the Halloween party and couldn't attend, Joyce lied about her really seeing a murder happen. Michael Butler and Mrs. Drake murdered Olga Seminoff so they can have all of Mrs. Llewellyn Smythe's money.
Miranda was Michael's illegitimate daughter and at the end of the book he was about to murder her as well to hide his previous murders so he can keep his ambitions: he was to use the money in the Greek island where he would build the perfect garden.
I'd give it a 5 out of 5 as I love all mystery and detective stories.

“The Year Of Secret Assignments” – Jaclyn Moriarty

This book is about three girls who are assigned to involve in the pen-pal project with other three boys from the Brookfield high school as tasks from their English teacher. At first, they don’t put much effort and grace into writing letters hence occasionally, they are just about to fight… However as they reluctantly ask questions to their correspondents, more things arise to discuss and… obviously they start to get along with each other. They talk about many things, exchange secrets and finally meet each other in person. Unfortunately, Lydia and Emily find out the truth that their delicate best friend, Cassie is being threatened by her pen-pal, Matthew and since then they declare *wars* on the boys. As the story develops, confidential things such as secret missions, false alarms, lock picking…etc have been revealed…

I like this book not because it has a good plot but the use of language is informal therefore it’s very entertaining! I don’t really like the parts where contain some swear-words and insulting phrases.

It's Kind Of A Funny Story by Ned Vizzini

Park Avenue-residing Manhattanite teenager Craig Gilner is like any other boy of his age- ambitious, carefree and bursting with energy. Determined to succeed at life- which, to him, means getting into the right high school to get into the right college to get the right job and get the right life, he aces his way through the prestigious Manhanttan Executive Pre-Professional High, only to find himself getting more and more stressed by all the workload. Craig is then prescribed daily doses of Zoloft by his therapist which he stops taking after a while, claiming he is better off without the psycho drugs. Craig tries to carry on living his miserable life until one day his burden becomes too much and nearly kills himself. By attempting to jump off the Brooklyn Bridge.

Notice I wrote 'nearly'. Which means he survived at the end.

He dials the suicide hotline and gets transported to the nearest hospital, where he checks himself in. Only, checking into the hospital was the easiest thing.

Since the teenage psychiatric ward is being renovated, Craig has no other option but to check into the adult mental ward, where hardcore druggies, transsexual sex addicts and other suicidal teens share the same roof. Despite this, Craig survives the week at the hospital, even enjoying his stay. In the hospital Craig befriends several older people with enough problems of their own, including a 15-year-old girl his own age, Noelle. While recovering, Craig rediscovers his inner artistic talents and entertains other patients in the ward with his 'brain map' drawings (like the one on the cover of the book). Together, Noelle and Craig confront the sources of his anxiety and struggle to get better. The book ends hopefully while hinting a potential relationship between the two.

It's Kind Of A Funny Story is filled with funny, twisted humor while exploring topics we tend to stay away from, including drug use, alcohol, friendships and relationships. The author himself spent time in a mental hospital, which surprised me. This book is one of self-realization, like Biff in Death of a Salesman (yay I made a link! ( : ). It's a light but also serious book which I enjoyed. I recommend this to every teen everywhere- this is a must read !

Oh and before I forget, this book is being adapted to the big screen later this year starring Emma Roberts and crew (for those of you who dont know her, she's Julia's niece- you know, the one from Nancy Drew?)- read the book before you watch the movie !

"Message In A Bottle" – Nicholas Sparks

Theresa Osborne is divorced and has a little son named Kevin. Before, she thought her marriage was perfect until one day she found out the affair between her husband and another woman; everything collapsed in pain.

Three years after the divorce, Theresa takes a vacation on a coast where one of her friends live. In the early morning, while walking on the beach, she finds a bottle hiding in the sand… which contains a letter inside! Curiously skimming through the note, she realizes it is a love letter from somebody who is very passionate and wants to expose his feeling towards probably his wife or his lover. The gentleman’s name is Garret, the lady’s name is Catherine and that’s all the information she knows… His tender words, true feelings and devotion make Theresa, a journalist decide to publish the letter on her newspaper without mentioning their names. And she thinks this way could help to pull them together. Astonishingly, a few weeks later, there are two more letters appearing at different places which have been written by Garret as well. This even greatly urges Theresa to meet Garret in person. Using all her profession and skills, she finally discovers he is a diving teacher who lives in a small fishing village, North Carolina. Immediately, she is off to that place without having any plans in advance.

They ultimately meet, gradually become friends and unexpectedly fall in love with each other. Garret doesn’t know that his three letters have been collected, read and published on the newspapers. Before she could do anything about that, he unfortunately finds out the truth and he feels like she has turned him down and betrayed him so badly. Their relationship falls apart and Theresa comes back to her own place.

As the sorrow in Garret is reduced, he realizes how much he loves Theresa therefore, he decides to write a letter hoping for her forgiveness and return. The novel has an open ending where Theresa replies the message wholeheartedly and drifts it away in the sea. The letter could or could not be received by Garret but probably she believes in fate and in their everlasting love.

This novel is very well-expressed and this is a good example of descriptive writing. I recommend this book to anyone who likes romance genre.

Chosen

This is the third book of the House of Night series, written by P.C and Kirsten Cast.

It has the same characters as last time but i will refresh your memory!

Zoey: is the main character and she is heard of the Dark Daughters and Sons. She also has three boyfriends and one is a teacher!

Erik: Is the vampire boyfriend and is the hottest boy in school, also very good at drama.

Heath: He is Zoeys human boyfriend and he has known her since year 2 and she Imprinted with him.

Loren: Is the hottest male vampire and he teaches poetry in the school

At the start of the book it's Zoeys birthday and her birthday is on the 24th of December and she hates it when people mush christmas and her birthday together. The problem is her friends do exactly that. She had a really bad day so she decides to find her bestfriend who is undead and she finds her in an alleyway sucking a homeless persons blood. Her bestfriend is called Stevie Rae and she is not human or vampire. Zoey attempts to talk to her but Stevie Rae has changed but manages to arrange a meeting with her so they can talk about her condition. Her friends don't know Stevie Rae is alive.

In the middle of the book she is juggling to manage three boyfriends without them knowing about each other. She doesn't want to have three but can't let one go.

Before I Die by Jenny Downham

.. And this marks my first post of the year. Yay.

Tessa Scott is a young British girl of sixteen- and is no different to the average teenager. Except for the fact that she is on an express train to her death.

Doomed with leukemia at the age of thirteen, Tessa, three years later, has only a couple of months to live. Instead of rotting away in her bed she tries her hardest to make life something she won't regret- while battling with her cancer she puts together all the things she has always wanted to do on her Ten Things To Do Before I Die list. Number one is sex. Drugs, shoplifting, falling in love follow. Tessa knows it's the only thing that will keep her alive.

(The scenes aren't inappropriate, despite what I wrote!)

With her pregnant best friend Zoey's help, Tessa manages to get through all ten things on her list before her time finally runs out. She also manages to renew her rocky relationship with her estranged mother, father and little brother Cal while also getting to know her new boyfriend Adam. Tessa tries to make it easy for her family to finally accept her fast approaching death.

There were a few particularly painful scenes in the book. When her boyfriend Adam goes on a college interview, Tessa breaks down because everyone she loves has a future while she only has a few days left over and realizes that everyone will inevitably move on after her death. She is reminded of this later in the novel when best friend Zoey gets nearer to her due date- that the new life always follows death. Tessa then struggles to be there in time for Zoey's baby, but fails.

The most heartbreaking scenes were at the very last of the book. Tessa is seen counting her days and leaving 'Further Instructions' for everyone, including Adam, her parents, Cal, Zoey and her baby soon to be born. In the instructions she talks about her funeral arrangements and their life after her death. In her final moments, brother Cal is seen saying good-bye to her, 'giving permission' for her to die. The book ends with Tessa thanking everyone for such a blessed life.

This book was written by a middle-aged British lady, which I was surprised to find- mostly because it was as if a sixteen-year-old had actually penned the book. Before I Die isn't your usual chick flick but much deeper and moving, the kind which actually touches your heart... And no, I don't usually go around saying that to a random book. This is a book I won't soon forget.

.. and by all means READ IT !

They take Pettigrew as there captive and take him up to give him to teh dementors but he transforms to a rat and runs away. Sirus, Harry and Hermionie go after him but the Dementors found them and makes them go unconcious.

It's not a great book to read.

The Vampire Diaries

Vampire Diaries is a new series that just came out on TV and it has become a huge show!
I haven't watched it yet, but i plan to.

There are three main characters in this book:
Elena: The most popular girl in school and can get any guy she wants
Stefan: Brooding and mysterious, desperatly trying to resist Elena for her own good
Damon: Dangerous and driven by an urge for revenge against Stefen, the brother who betrayed him.

The problem is, Elena is attracted to both brothers!

When Stefen first comes he is all dark and mysterious and of course that intriges Elena and she wants to find out more about him. Stefen is a vampire and when he smells Elena's blood it makes him go crazy for some reason. At first Stefen tries to ignore her because he doesnt want to hurt her and Elena tries her best to get Stefen.

Soon he finally gives up and they date. Then a human teenager is killed by a vampire and the police investigate.

One night Elena finds Stefen on the roof with a dead deer in his arms and blood around his mouth. She then finds out he is a vampire but she is not scared.

Then Damon comes into the picture! It turns out Damon has been killing the humans to annoy and blame Stefen.

In the end Damon captures Stefen and keeps him somewhere and he wants Elena for himself. Elena and Damon meet and Damon tries to hypnotise her but it doesnt work and he wont let Stefen go so now she will try find him.
