I love the Hardy Boys!Malcolm Wright, an inventor, gave permission to Joe and Frank Hardy to break into his home and retrieve his invention from a secret compartment because he believe another gang were to break in also and take it. They achieve the task but got into a hustle with the thieves also aiming to get the top secret invention.
They had to keep the invention somewhere no one can get, that's when they put it at the trunk of their car. Whilst in a party hosted by Chet, the boys' sidekick in crime, Frank gets kidnapped chasing an alleged thief watching the brothers.
Frank gets rescued, but they chase their thieves all the way to New York City from their home in Bayport.
The bad guys were also smugglers but were caught later on in the novel. They stole Mr. Wright's antique plane to get Fenton Hardy, the father, out of the way for them to get the invention, but the boys have stopped them.
Woohoo!
