The lady raised her arm and instructed us to the left to put on our vests. They felt heavy on my shoulders and i remember them being dirty and sweaty from the previous group. Nevertheless, gun in hand, i was ready to go.

We scurried inside the now dark arena and i quickly navigated my way as quickly as i could deep into the labyrinth of walls and barriers and away from the competition. I knelt down and waited for the alarm that would signal the start.

Sure enough, it rung through the darkness not long after. Game on.

For the first few moments it seemed that everyone had yet to find my hiding place. So far it was just my muffled footsteps that could be heard as i tried tip toed to a raised platform in an attempt to gain a better view. I climbed up to the top where i sat down waiting for someone to discover me. Though my hands were slightly trembling, my fingers maintained a tight grip on the gun, ready to fire at any moment should someone find me.

I don't exactly know how it happened but my vest which had, just a second earlier, been brightly lit with coloured lights had gone dark, taking with it the glow that had been surrounding me. I was suddenly engulfed in darkness. It took a second until i realised that this would've meant someone had shot me. I felt myself freeze. Sure enough as i slowly turned by head to my left, a colossal, stationary silhouette began to creep into the corner of my vision. It stared down at me, the gun clutched in it's tennis rackets for hands pointed straight at my face. Instinctively, i screamed and got up as quickly as i could and ran away from it. But straight away it reached out it's tail in a single swift motion and i plummeted straight to the ground. It was only in the panic that i realised i couldnt hear any of my friends, not even muffled footsteps or echoes of the lazers. I was alone.

egh i hope that made sense i dont even know what the plot was and i found it kind of hard to inject any magical realism....
as you can probably tell i ran out of time
