This book is a murder mystery book that is also quite scary. At the end of most chapters, it ends with a cliff hanger and makes me read another page!
The main character starts as a 14 year old girl called Cynthia who has been out late drinking with her much older boyfriend. Then her dad finds her and takes her home and she passes out on her bed. She has a mother father and brother named Todd. Then the next morning she wakes up to find her whole family is gone.
25 years later she has a husband and a daughter called Grace and her family are still missing. Obviously the case is cold but she decided to do a TV documentary. The book is then told by the husbands persective.
Its a really complicated book because in the end they find the mother and brother at the bottom of a lake in a car and have been dead for 25 years. The dad is alive but near death because he has cancer. He lived a double life because he had another wife in another state with a son and the wife is a pycopathic killer because she killed cynthia's mother and brother.
Its a really good book, but its hard to explain!
