“P.S. I Love You” – Cecelia Ahern

Holly is a talented and beautiful girl who gets married to a funny, devoted and caring man called Gerry. They are getting along with each other so well as their love seems to be perfect! Nothing can ever be better than what they have…

Unfortunately, the fatal illness takes away Gerry’s life and leaves behind a dazed wife. She totally collapses and avoids the truth that he’s gone, the person who would share the rest of her life is no longer existing on this world. Holly hardly gets up in the morning without her husband besides, she can’t go to work or even do things that she is routinely used to carry out… until the day Holly’s mom calls and tells her to come and collect the envelope. There are 10 letters Gerry had written before he died which would guide her to the future, helping to rediscover herself through the grief. He endlessly encourages and reassures that he will always be there for her… The messages *assign* Holly many tasks and bring up some promises that he left behind; the most special thing is… all the letters end with “P. S. I LOVE YOU”.

People around Holly start to worry about those letters misleading her back to the past and not living in the reality, however, she finds them useful since from there, she can find the true meaning of love, live and friendship.

After all, she realizes that she needs to move on… having a job, hanging out with friends, taking care of her family and… starting a new romance! That’s what her late husband truly wants her to do…
